Aleem Dar Mr.100%

Aleem Dar made his international umpiring debut in an ODI between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at Gujranwala on February 16, 2000. In 2002 he became a member of ICC’s International Panel of umpires. He was chosen to umpire at the ICC Cricket World Cup in early 2003. He was appointed to stand in his first Test match between Bangladesh and England at Dhaka, in October 2003. In April 2004, he became the first Pakistani to be part of the ICC Elite Umpire Panel. Aleem Dar also holds a record of umpiring 100 ODI’s in record time of just seven years, he umpired his 100th ODI on 17 Oct. 2007 and became 10th umpire to pass that number and first Pakistani to achieve this landmark. He was one of the on-field umpires for the final of the 2006 ICC Champions Trophy, and this was not just one time when he was selected to umpire such a high profile match, later he was chosen to stand in the final of the 2007 Cricket World Cup between Australia and Sri Lanka and was also selected to stand in the final of the 2010 ICC World Twenty20 between Australia and England.
Aleem Dar has won ICC umpire of the year award of 2010 for the second time in a row. His has also beaten five times winner Simon Taufel second time consecutively, after 2009. The other nominees in the category were Steve Davis, Tony Hill and five-time winner Simon Taufel. This award is named as David Shephered Trophy and it was the 7th time that this award ceremony was held. Simon Taufel has won it during first five years consecutively and now it seems that Aleem Dar is going to get it for the next couple of years as well.

In spite of being number one Umpire, he is so down to earth that he doesn't even mind the rudeness of players as we saw recently in notorious incident of Ricky Ponting, and many players share light moments with him on-field. Dedication to Umpiring is his major ingredient of success, he plays table-tennis to maintain eye-sight and still plays Cricket to remain fit. And the support of family is  there behind his success, his child died when he was in South Africa during WC 2003 but he wasn't informed of death by his family so that he doesn't lose concentration. He is perhaps the most dedicated Umpire of world

Aleem Dar is perhaps the most dedicated Umpire of world, he has some patterns to follow even during Umpiring as he doesn’t raise his index finger of right-hand because of this gesture’s resemblance with prayer i.e Namaz, he always raises finger of his left-hand.

Why aleem dar uses his left hand finger while giving out

Tribute to Shoaib Akhtar

I was sitting and watching television suddenly my attention divert by a beam of my mobile when I checked it, I found a text message about Shoaib Akhtar.

"Once there was a boy: Up-to 12 year he can not run, because of his toes both of
them were plate and flat foot as well, but in the age of 18 he start cricket, the people
in those days were called him as the first terrorist of the cricket world because of his
aggressive nature and quick bowling. Then he bowled the fastest ball of the history,
which no one bowled in 137years of cricket till today.Today he is leaving us because
of his retirement from international cricket, but no one even named him, no one
appreciated his 15years great serve, which he did for PAKISTAN. He played only
for Pakistan not for himself people call him SHOAIB AKHTAR. i salute his services
because for us he is a TRUE LEGEND"

After this text message i realize that our hero RAWALPINDI EXPRESS leaving the cricket and we were too busy in world cup that we forget to talk about him.For me he is a indeed legend, all the wicket he took are still fresh....the power and passion he played and bowled was fabulous.Surely cricket will miss its fastest and one of the most exciting blower. I liked it when he got the stumps and flying for the wickets. If there is something like re-birth I would love to watch him young again with furious blowing. Whole Pakistani nation will going to miss RAWALPINDI EXPRESS. Even i will say every cricket lover will miss him in cricket May ALLAH bless him. I salute his services for Pakistan.

WIN OR DIE MATCH

By defeating the world champions Australia, India has made to semi final to face the “GREEN TIGERS.” It has become a “win or die match” for the both teams.

As the days passes the nervousness grows higher because this match is more important then the final match. In the history of world cup Pakistan woundn’t won a match against India but this time INSHA ALLAH Pakistan team change the history and our “GREEN TIGERS” defeat Indians in their own home ground.
If we put a glance on the both team performance. Pakistan has been in terrible form till now and has won 6 matches out of  7 matches  in this 2011 World Cup.
India has also won in all matches except 1 match against South Africa.
So, hope for the best and keep praying for our Pakistan team

Mismanagment In University

A shop at university where we found a huge crowd of girls shouting over uncle “SUST UNCLE” does his work as slow as he can. Yes it is one and only PHOTO STATE shop which is famous for their late work. Problems are sometimes faced by the girls most of the time girls don’t receive their notes on time. The shop provides photocopy and book binding facilities to students but another problem is of high price. The price is as high as compare to other shop so, what is the use of this shop where student doesn’t receive any discount.
While asking to student what types of problem they face some student answered.

“Our so much time wasted at this shop.”

“It is our compulsion and we have no choice other than this shop”

“The prices are also so high it’s better to go in another shop outside university and save money as well as time.” Said by students of JUW

I think VC must look at this problem and also pass notification against the high prices.
They should provide one more photo state shop so that the word load on him may reduce and the price monopoly will broke.

World through your lens

At the recent seminar which was on citizen journalism at Jinnah University for women (JUW), speaker was Ovais mangalwala producer and anchor of channel Dawn news. He told us about the citizen journalist, in his word citizen journalist is defined as "when the people use the tools of journalism in order to communicate with each other." while addressing to the students he mention the four types of citizen journalism.

  1.  Sharing of experience.
  2.  Sharing of opinion.
  3.  Sharing of discovery.
  4.  Sharing of expertise.

He also promotes the show which dawn Channel is going to start naming "MERI NAZAR" they provide the local citizen a platform to take part in it by capturing the image, make videos and send it to the dawn news and become a citizen journalist.

Mr.Mangalawala sum up his lecture by giving some key points which is important for citizen journalism:

  1.  What u share it must be real.
  2.  Events are around find it and cover it.
  3.  Give your own point of view.
  4.  Keep your eyes open everything can be reported
  5.  Be descriptive but not exaggerate.
  6.  Accuracy is the key so Be accurate.
  7.  Work on writing style and selection of words.
  8.  Follow the code of conduct.
  9.  Find those people who give you some feedback.
  10.  Don't ever think that what you are doing is a boring job.
  11.  Avoid plagiarism.

I personally found this lecture very interesting and this is a good effort by Dawn to encourage people.

About Me

I am Marium. Doing Mass Communication i am going to tell u some thing about me. its difficult but i have to do this. so,
its not the clothes...
its not the hair.....
its not the eyes....
its not the appearance...
its the personality get to know me Just because I m quite doesn’t mean I don’t have anything to say. I am unpredictable and spontaneous. I try to forgiving. I enjoy being unique. I’d rather look immature and have fun then care what other people think. My friends and family mean everything to me. I always try to see the best in others even if they annoy me. I hate when people make me feel guilty to get their way. I’ll always be here to listen you and and I will stick up for my friends no matter what happen.
